2019年12月5日 · You must register for GST where your turnover exceeds $75k. When you register, you must stay registered for 12 months at least. This would probably mean you would be registering for GST, then cancelling your GST, and re-registering within a few short months. That seems like a lot of re-calibration for your clients.
If your income drops again in the next year, or you don't expect it to pass the threshold again, you can cancel your registration. While you're registered for GST, you'll need to charge an extra 10% on your business services and supplies. So if you'd normally charge $100, you'll need to charge $100 + $10 GST.
2023年4月12日 · However this F/Y I had some additional work over the first 2 quarters which means I will come close to the $75k by end of F/Y (I am currently at around $60k). As I have now lost this additional work, my income is back to normal and will be well under the $75k threshold in the next F/Y so I don't want to register it won't be required in the future.
