HKDR has now rescued, cared for and re-homed more than 10,000 dogs and puppies while being almost entirely funded by private donations, sales of HKDR merchandise and fundraising events. HKDR is proud to be a No Kill Organisation, meaning that no dog under its care will be euthanised for any reason other than when it is the only humane option.

PUPPY ADOPTION. We always have puppies of all ages needing homes, even though their details aren’t on the website’s dog profiles because they grow and change so quickly. You can meet a big selection of puppies every Sunday at Whiskers N Paws, 2pm to 5pm, or any day by arrangement.
One-Off Donation – Hong Kong Dog Rescue. To obtain a tax-deductible receipt for donations of HK$100 or above, please complete the online donation form below and upload your transaction record. HKDR wants our dogs to become a part of your life and family and to ensure that you are prepared for this lifestyle change. You must be 18 years old or above to volunteer as a dog-walker. All dog-walking volunteers are required to attend a 3-hour orientation and subsequently serve a supervised first shift at the homing centre of their choice. An administration fee of HK$100 will be applied to each successful dog-walker application.
Kennel Volunteer – Hong Kong Dog Rescue. We depend on our dedicated volunteers to exercise and socialize the 600 dogs waiting in our Tai Po Homing Centre (medium to large sized dogs) and Kennedy Town Homing Centre (older puppies to small-medium sized dogs). We especially need help on weekdays for cleaning, dog-walking etc.
About Hong Kong Dog Rescue. HKDR was founded in 2003 for the specific purpose of saving dogs and puppies from the Hong Kong Government’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) Animal Management Centres, where around 7,000 dogs and puppies are destroyed every year.

Short-term foster homes help HKDR monitor the health or assess the character of our dogs in waiting and for the dogs to adjust to home life. For this reason, foster parents need to be experienced with dogs and be able to provide extra care, attention and understanding to the fostered dogs.
