During the construction of the new campus, HKU will plant a total of 500 trees in the Centennial Campus and the Main Campus. Greening of rooftops and building facades will be designed. The roofs of the service reservoirs will become the Centennial Garden for public access, thereby transforming HKU into a green campus.
Three courtyards located in the Centennial Campus will provide shade and shelter from hot and humid weather. Induced breezes encourage students and faculty staff to sit outdoors, offering opportunities for personal interaction to facilitate a dynamic learning community.
