2010年6月27日 · Jun 27, 2010. #6. "Imperative" means "require an answer" or cannot be ignored.. It does not (though it might) mean urgent. I have never heard anyone use imperative in this way. Only "it's imperative you answer them", as Rinna says. However, I would expect a secretary to say "2 of them urgent" or "2 urgent". Last edited: Jun 27, 2010.
