Kellett was not popular in the past simply because Kellett was not well known to local parents. More they lacked a feeder secondary school at that time.

FIS as a whole is very academic rigorous. As you see from the secondary section, students get top score in the world/HK in IGCSEs and there is an increasing number of graduates getting into Ivy League schools in the US while the others go to top universities in UK or Canada. Many people compare FIS with GSIS in terms of academics.
