2024年8月12日 · My boy Ritter is dog reactive. The reactivity became noticeable enough by 9 months that I consulted a behaviorist. She felt it was genetic. He doesn't seem particularly reactive around things that aren't dogs: wildlife, fireworks, people. Nor is he dog aggressive. He was a pandemic puppy from a small scale breeder.

It makes some sense since they're closer to their working/hunting heritage than the littler guys, who were basically created to be the companion version of the bigger dogs.

2021年6月17日 · With a Giant Schnauzer you will more than likely have aggression issues, as well as very strong prey drive. They are extremely protective, which is a no no for a service dog. When people call about buying standard poodles puppies for the first time I tell them they ARE a one person dog, but accept the other people in that person's life. I also say they ARE NOT Golden Retrievers and are not going to jump in a stranger's car, they think too much.
