Hong Kong has been ravaged by COVID-19 since early 2020; the pandemic has badly affected the economy and people’s livelihoods. In view of the situation, the Chest quickly set up The Community Chest Pandemic Rainbow Fund to support pandemic-affected individuals and families.
Amid the pandemic and social distancing measures, the Chest launched its first-ever virtual walk, The Community Chest Virtual Walk for Millions, early this year. With full support by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, the virtual walk raised over HK$5.3 million.
The Community Chest Walk for Millions 2021/2022 will continue to take a virtual format to encourage people to maintain their physical and mental health, at the same time, to raise funds for the Chest to support “Family and Child Welfare Services” from 9 – 23 January 2022.
All donations raised from Flag Day 2022 will be allocated to the Chest’s 168 social welfare member agencies that reach out to over 2.5 million beneficiaries in Hong Kong in six major area of services: Children & Youth Services, Elderly Services, Family & Child
2022年11月20日 · The New Territories Walk for Millions 2022/23, scheduled for Sunday, 20 November 2022, will be held at the Cross Bay Link (CBL), Tseung Kwan O (TKO). This represents the return of in-person Walk for Millions for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Yet, thanks to the exceptional generosity of Hongkongers, The Community Chest of Hong Kong (the Chest) was able to raise nearly $325 million to support social services provided by 165 member agencies and designated funds set up for special purposes.
