If you said Acrobat but meant Acrobat Reader, then try a copy/paste to Word of a page of text and compare. As I understand it, copy/paste and JavaScript do the same "word finding". Upvote.
2024年7月29日 · Export an InDesign document as a PDF. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat. Export as a Word document. Open in Word and select Word Count from the Tools menu. The number of words appears in a dialogue box. I tested both methods. I had a document with 3942 words but the search & replace method only showed 3009 spaces.

2012年12月5日 · For example, Acrobat splits hyphenated words into two, so "right-handed" will count as two words, while Word counts it as one. If you can share a sample file that demonstrates this issue we can look more closely into it, but if Word behaves the way you're looking for, just export the PDF to Word and do the count there.

Word Count is: 6142. Test_2: Opened the supplied PDF. Removed all pdf pages. Exported to MS Word using Export PDF in Acrobat Pro DC to DOCX.
