2023年7月8日 · 取消專項儲蓄戶口計劃做法妥當. 2023年7月8日. 強制性公積金「對沖」安排2025年5月1日取消，勞工及福利局局長孫玉菡表示，顧問估算專項儲蓄戶口計劃的行政費高達數億元，當局認為取消計劃是最妥當的做法。 孫玉菡今日出席活動後出席會見傳媒，被問及政府為何決定不推行計劃。 他指出，政府已通過法例清晰表明會取消「對沖」安排，並會提供長達25年、總金額高達330億元的政府資助計劃協助僱主過渡至新制度。 若有公司因倒閉而無法支付遣散費或長期服務金，政府可通過破產欠薪保障基金為有需要員工支付相當大數目的遣散費，故沒有必要推行計劃。 他續說，儲蓄戶口不牽涉政府資助，屬強制儲蓄安排，按顧問估算推行計劃的行政費用高達數億元。 經深入研究，平衡各方看法後，當局認為應取消計劃。

The Government said the scheme announced in the 2020-21 Budget has been operating smoothly since registration commenced on June 21 last year. As of November 23 this year, the scheme had disbursed $10,000 each to more than 6.5 million eligible registrants.
