Aberystwyth University is the top university in Wales for student satisfaction for the ninth year in a row according to the latest survey of students’ opinions on the quality of their courses.
The main campus of the university is situated on Penglais Hill, overlooking the town of Aberystwyth and Cardigan Bay, and comprises most of the university buildings, Arts Centre, Students' Union, and many of the student residences.

It was a founding member of the former University of Wales, funded by donations from individual benefactors and members of the public.
