It's unfortunate that they don't provide a more visible delete button. Refused assets in that tab can't be deleted.

We have been told that assets are segregated into queues by file types, e.g. photographs, illustrations, videos, vectors. So if you have a mixture of those file types you may find them getting reviewed separately.
