We want to ensure the experience of admissions to Downside, from overseas, as easy as possible and recognise that choosing a boarding school from afar can be daunting. We offer both virtual and on-site visits, with many wishing to have a virtual meeting and interview in the first instance and a follow up visit thereafter.

During World War One, over 500 Downside boys served in the forces, and 109 of them lost their lives. Their average age was 25 and more than a fifth gained some honour or distinction. All their names are inscribed on the School’s War Memorial which was unveiled in 1922.
