The 2013 FIBA Asia Championship for Men was the intercontinental championship for basketball organized by FIBA Asia that served as the qualifying tournament for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain. The tournament was held from August 1–11 in Metro Manila, Philippines.

2012年9月20日，亚洲篮球联合会执行委员会经过投票后决定由黎巴嫩贝鲁特举办第27届亚洲男子篮球锦标赛。
2013年1月11日，由于黎巴嫩国内局势不稳，第27届亚洲男子篮球锦标赛移师菲律宾马尼拉举行。
在第一阶段小组赛中，4个小组中的4支（B组3支）队伍分别进行单场循环赛，3场小组赛之后每组的前3名晋级下一轮，最后1名被淘汰。第一阶段完赛后，共12支队伍晋级。
在第二阶段小组赛中，第一阶段晋级的12支球队分为E、F两个小组，其中A、B两组的六支球队为E组，C、D两组六支球队为F组。随后E、F两组球队再各自进行第二阶段小组循环赛，而第一阶段小组赛中交手过的球队不再交手。
2013年8月1日至3日，为2013年第27届亚洲男子篮球锦标赛第一阶段。
2013年8月5日至7日，为2013年第27届亚洲男子篮球锦标赛第二阶段。
2015年7月，由于黎巴嫩篮球协会对于该国国内篮球联赛纠纷的处理不当以及该国国内政治纠纷对于篮球的不利影响，国际篮球联合会正式宣布对黎巴嫩篮球协会进行禁赛处罚，禁赛期为4年。
而后，亚洲篮球联合会宣布由于时间仓促，递补队伍无法参赛，因此第27届亚洲男子篮球锦标赛仅有15支队伍参赛。
