玻璃类型
磨砂玻璃又叫毛玻璃、暗玻璃，是用普通平板玻璃经机械喷砂、手工研磨（如金刚砂研磨）或化学方法处理（如氢氟酸溶蚀）等将表面处理成粗糙不平整的的半透明玻璃。一般多用在办公室、卫生间的门窗上面，其它的房间的玻璃也可以。
由于磨砂玻璃表面粗糙，使光线产生漫反射，透光而不透视：光线通过磨砂玻璃被反射后向四面八方射出去在（因为磨砂玻璃表面不是光滑的平面，使光产生了漫反射），折射到视网膜上已经是不完整的像，于是就看不见玻璃背后的东西了。它可以使室内光线柔和而不刺目。
当磨砂玻璃上贴了透明胶布，其表面又变得平整了，光线可以完整被反射，所以，在视网膜上又呈现出完整的像，因而，眼睛又能看到物体了。另外，用湿布擦磨砂玻璃也能看清楚。
（1）隔音效果好：在制造隔音玻璃的时候，可以采用磨砂玻璃来制造，因为磨砂玻璃在隔音方面有很好的效果，如果利用磨砂玻璃制造隔音玻璃的话，生产出来的隔音玻璃效果很好，在生产隔音玻璃的时候，还常常使用到磨砂玻璃来生产隔音玻璃，但是随着更多玻璃被生产出来，才使得磨砂玻璃被其他产品所取代。
（2）安全程度高：磨砂玻璃属于安全玻璃的一种，利用起来很安全，很好的保证了人身安全。玻璃属于易碎品，在受到外力的作用后，玻璃很容易就破碎了，使用起来很不安全，而且玻璃损坏的话，也增加了用户的成本，但是用磨砂玻璃的话，不但很好的解决了安全方面的问题，而且价格相对来说也比较低，使用的时间也比较长。
（1）磨砂玻璃不能再进行切割和再加工，只能在加工时就对玻璃进行加工至需要的形状，再进行钢化处理。
（2）磨砂玻璃强度虽然比普通玻璃强，但是磨砂玻璃在温差变更大时有自爆的可能，而普通玻璃不存在自爆的可能性。
（1）常用于需要隐蔽的浴室、办公室的门窗及隔断。使用时应将毛面向室内，但卫生间使用时毛面应该朝外。
（2）常用于化学试剂瓶中，例如集气瓶的瓶口是磨砂的，用磨砂玻璃片是为了保证磨砂玻璃与集气瓶接触更为紧密。因此，用磨砂玻璃时也应用磨砂的这一面，这样收集的气体就不容易外漏了。
用化学法生产磨砂玻璃的工艺方法，其过程是：
（1）清洗烘干：首先对要将生产磨砂玻璃的平板玻璃用水进行清洗，去除灰 尘、污渍，然后烘干；
（2）吊装：将清洗烘干后的平板玻璃装入吊装架上，吊装架与玻璃相接触的部分用齿形橡胶支架垫起 ，玻璃立式排放，玻璃与玻璃之间相距一定的距离，用吊车吊起；
（3）腐蚀：用吊车将平板玻璃连同吊装架一同浸入腐蚀箱中，采用常规腐蚀液浸没玻璃，腐蚀时间5-10分钟，用吊车吊起后，淋掉残液；
（4）软化：淋掉残液后，磨砂玻璃上面附着一层残留物，放入软化箱中软化，采用常规软化液浸没玻璃 ，软化时间1－2分钟，去掉残留物；
（5）清洗：由于腐蚀与 软化使磨砂玻璃体带有很多化学物质，所以必须清洗，把磨砂玻璃放入冲洗机的滑道上，滑道带动磨砂玻璃进入清洗机，清洗机一边喷入清水，一边转动毛刷，当磨砂玻璃被清洗机滑道带出清洗机后，磨砂玻璃清洗结束；
