BSc. The Faculty of Science offers a number of Science majors leading to the award of a BSc degree. All students admitted to the first year of the 6901 BSc programme are required to complete at least one Science major out of the 14 regular or 7 intensive Science majors as a primary major for the award of the BSc degree.
The comprehensive programme lays the foundation for knowledge in science with a choice of 14 Science Majors, 7 Intensive Majors, and options to add non-science courses. After two years, you will be required to choose your Major with the flexibility to change.

Admissions formula. The programme will consider admissions based on the best 5 HKDSE subjects. The best 5 subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, the best Science elective subject*, plus the best two among the remaining Category A subjects and M1/ M2. Students directly admitted to the third year should refer to the curriculum for the first year students in preceding two years, i.e. for students directly admitted to the third year in 2014-2015 should refer to the major/minor requirements for students admitted to the first year in 2012-2013.
At the School of Biological Sciences, we study the proximate mechanisms underlying biological systems as well as their ultimate outcomes. Our teaching and research contributes to the understanding, appreciation and conservation of nature in Hong Kong and globally.
