The Fame is the debut studio album by American singer Lady Gaga. It was released on August 19, 2008, by Interscope Records. After joining KonLive Distribution and Cherrytree Records in 2008, Gaga began working on the album with different producers, primarily RedOne, Martin Kierszenbaum, and Rob Fusari.

Prior to the album release, watermarked editions of the album in a paper sleeve were made for reviewers. The 12 songs track list is arranged differently from the first release of The Fame with track titles variations as well. A notable difference in this pre-release is the inclusion of "Vanity" instead of "Again Again".

The revised edition includes an altered track listing and some minor artwork changes; the text "Lady Gaga" on the front cover is colored red for this version. Aside from artwork differences, "LoveGame" and "Money Honey" were slightly remixed. "Again Again" was removed, while "Starstruck", "Paper Gangsta", and "I Like It Rough" were all added. The iTunes Store has "Disco Heaven" as a bonus track.

All countries except the UK, Ireland, Japan, and Canada received this edition of The Fame. A new Australian version was also released to replace the first one. The Taiwanese edition has a Chinese translation of the booklet and blue colored text on the cover.

Initially planned solely as a deluxe edition reissue of The Fame, Interscope later decided to release the eight new songs as a standalone EP in some territories.
