But also don't obsess about what MC firms want (or what you think they want), there are hundreds of firms out there that all offer differing opportunities and advantages/disadvantages, the MC are merely 5 of them (and come with many disadvantages of their own) 8 months ago.

But if I could generalise, I'd say US firms have: less formal training and more on-the-job training. fewer trainees compared to the magic circle law firms.

The magic circle (along with equivalent English-based silver circle) firms were being pressed to 'cast their nets wider than oxbridge' - so reluctantly they seem to have increased their intake from the top London colleges but not much 'wider' than that.

Hi, So I've just finished my first year studying LLB Law at the University of Leicester. I got a first class (barely at 70.9%) and I got an average of 71, 72, 73 percent on my exams. I have done lots of extracurriculars last year because I always felt like I had to do more to make up for not being at a Russell group uni or ox-bridge.
2024年6月19日 · It is harder than people think it is to extract billable hours from working hours. Seven hours on the timesheet may be ten hours at your desk. All departments work hard. Every lawyer, from Manging Partner to junior trainee, works hard. Partners are rewarded on the origination of work and team perfomance.
11. I recently read the high salaries for magic circle law firms. I asked an A&O magic circle solicitor about the work life balance and he said that it can vary but most people can finish at 7pm. I have also heard that there are beds at magic circle law firms and that people can finish at 4am.
2021年8月13日 · 13. GCSEs don’t really matter much. Some firms don’t even ask for them. A level minimum requirements range usually from AAB-BBB. A-levels are more important than GCSEs but they don’t really have too much weight either. It’s primarily your university grades which firms look at - although some place more/less emphasis on academics generally.
