  5. Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School (West Kowloon) School History & Background. Our school was first established at a site in Sai Ying Poon through the generosity of the Kadoorie Family in 1890's. The Hong Kong Government assumed the school management in 1916 and the school later moved to its old site at Eastern Hospital Road.

  6. History. The school was founded in 1891 by Ellis Kadoorie, an Indian Jewish who was knighted in 1917. The school was originally called 'The Ellis Kadoorie School for Indians'. It was the first school in Hong Kong where Hindi and Urdu languages were included in the school curriculum.
