St. Joseph’s Church was established by Rev. Timoleon Raimondi, the last prefect and the First Vicar Apostolic. The construction of the church was attributed to the dedication and efforts of many parties, including the Hong Kong Government, local Christian communities as well as the Jewish agencies.

我們的歷史 - St. Joseph's Church. 羅馬教廷傳信部在1841年，將香港升級為監牧區。 並派駐華總務長若瑟神父（Fr.Theodore Joset）從澳門到香港主辦此事。 1842年，若瑟神父在威靈頓街和砵甸乍街交叉口建立了香港第一間教堂：聖母無原罪堂。 主要是為了服務遠離家鄉的葡萄牙教友而建的。 後來，聖母無原罪堂轉去了堅道。 1845年，灣仔的聖方濟沙勿略小堂建成。 之後，米蘭外方傳教會和嘉諾撒修女會來到香港，來自中國內陸的教友也開始增多。 為了服務這些離鄉背井的教友。 聖方濟沙勿略小堂在1864年擴建，並正式成為堂區。 這是香港的第二間教堂，也成為這些外鄉人“家鄉之外的家”。 1868年高神父被委任為宗座監牧。
St. Joseph’s Church of Kowloon Bay is located on the first floor of St Joseph’s Primary School and consecrated by Bishop John Wu on 19.3.1988. The church was formerly a building donated by a French catholic, Madam Lily La Fleur, to Br. Paul Suen of the Jesus’ Heart Follower Society for education purposes.
