If potassium chloride concentrate is used, it must be diluted and thoroughly mixed with Sodium Chloride 0.9% intravenous infusion, and given slowly. The maximum infusion rate is 20 mmol/hour. For peripheral intravenous infusion, the concentration of potassium should not usually exceed 40 mmol/L.
