Mineral spirit based enamel (like Testors Modelmaster), alchohol based acrylics (like Tamiya/Gunze), and alchohol based lacquers (like MRP, Mr Color, AKAN) all work great.

   • Mr. Color paints are acrylic (synthetic) lacquers. Results will vary by brand, but in general, they don't perform all that well with generic, hardware store lacquer thinner. You'll get far, FAR better results using a thinner formulated for synthetic lacquers. Tamiya's lacquer thinner is one. As are the various Mr.Color brand thinners.
