David Baxby | Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws
At the inaugural Bond University Alumni Awards, then-co-Chief Executive officer of the Virgin Group David Baxby flew in from Geneva, Switzerland to accept the prestigious Robert Stable Alumni Medal, named after the University's longest serving vice chancellor. After starting his career in corporate finance in Australia, Mr Baxby joined the Virgin Group in London and rose through the ranks to become Sir Richard Branson’s right hand man. He’s now the Managing Director of Wesfarmers Industrials.
Polly Banks | Bachelor of Arts
Polly Banks received the first Alumni Award for Exceptional Community Achievement for her work as a Senior Project Officer for Save the Children in remote West Kimberley. She coordinated the Save the Children’s HYPE program supporting at-risk Indigenous Australian youth and worked with communities in the Solomon Islands as Save the Children’s Head of Programs. Ms Banks is now the General Manager of Community and Regulatory Services at City of Darwin.
Adam Roberts | Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws
Former BUSA President Adam Roberts received the Young Alumni Award as a recent Commerce/Law graduate. Mr Roberts moved to London and was appointed Vice President – Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets of Macquarie Group, and completed a Master of Public Administration at the London School of Economics. In 2018 Mr Roberts returned to Sydney as the Global Strategy Manager, Macquarie Group Limited.
