Although Bitdefender looks to be the current overall highest-ranking one on many of the lists I saw, they are requiring me to give them my full home address at checkout with no way to bypass. 🧐 I've never encountered this before with any other security app, or any app other than my bank.
Despite what people are saying here, Windows Defender is by far not the best free antivirus either in terms of performance or in terms of how it manages resources; it can be a very unnecessary drain. Bitdefender and Kaspersky Free are obviously the best options at the moment. -11. StillABigKid.

However, if you don't want to use McAfee due to the stigma (which I totally get), I would recommend Avast or AVG as the highest security solutions, which received 99.9% protection rates with 2 false positives.

Windows users, Windows Defender is the built-in antivirus software. It has improved significantly in recent years and provides decent protection for most users. Windows defender but if you really want a 3rd party antivirus, bitdefender is pretty much the best and most trusted out there.

Make sure not to install any dubious software. ... and you don't need any antivirus at all. You can breathe the fresh air and enjoy the full power of your computer.
2020年10月26日 · Avast is a great antivirus, and I believe it has an Ubuntu download... but Ubuntu doesn't get viruses. It technically can,... but it doesn't. I've never heard of anyone getting one, anyway. I had it for years without issue, and never bothered installing an anti-virus.
