2019年9月13日 · If you planning to ship suitcase size boxes, use Surface. As EMS is only for small packages. Let say you are shipping about 25lbs (11kg) suitcase size box, Airmail will cost 18,600 yen (~$175), SAL will cost 13,250 yen (~$125), and Surface will cost 7,100 yen (~$66). I learn this from a friend who done couple shopping trips to Japan.

Listen to r/bulldogdiver once it leaves Japan, it's not Japan Post's problem anymore, that's why you write the addresses in English and not Japanese. Same with EMS and Airmail, all those do is give the packages different priority. 转送JAPAN只提供EMS的服务，合箱有手续费，倒是有客服可以咨询，这倒还行，就是只有EMS那是土豪专用，东西多的话根本不发EMS的好吧，光是邮局的运费就贵的不要不要的了。尿不湿、姨妈巾、卡乐比麦片等等这些重量比较大的还是发其他方式吧。

2022年5月16日 · According to a third party tracker, parcel has been on transit for 5 days. Not my first time using japan post EMS, usually receive my parcel within a week. Judging from duration of the delivery it is going now, it is more like a standard international postage rate.. Update, 27th May, status remained the same.
