2023年10月9日 · I'd say that the free hotspot shield plan is faster than Nord VPN. I'd say those are the 4 things I really wished I knew before jumping on this app. Maybe you'll have more luck than me. But for people needing to go to china, just get a VPN there - it'll be cheaper and will work so much better. You might need to ask around tho - ask friends ...
The current consensus for working VPNs seems to be Astrill VPN, Mullvad VPN, and LetsVPN. ExpressVPN, NordVPN, PrivateInternetAccess (PIA), and Surfshark WILL NOT RELIABLY WORK (if at all) in China, regardless of what their advertising or support tells you. Outside of commercially-available VPNs, there are many V2ray and Shadowsocks providers.

Letsvpn is cheap and really consistant, but I hate toggling the vpn on and off when I need to use a Chinese app that doesn't work if a vpn is in use. Astrill is a lot more expensive, but it's consistent and it offers split tunneling so you don't have to turn it on ...
2023年9月17日 · Yes it works well. Just tried with my relatives. I searched all places and I had find information that NordVPn Was working in China with some setting and modifications. I did it all to last week go there and find that it didn't work.

2022年8月20日 · NORDVPN not working in China. I moved to China and I subscribed with NordVPN for two years because the customer service told me it would work there. Well, it doesn't. It never worked on Windows devices, and two weeks ago it stopped work on all other devices. DON'T SUBSCRIBE TO NORDVPN IF YOU MOVE TO CHINA.
2023年10月21日 · Not sure about Guangzhou specifically, but when I was in China NordVPN did not work at all. None of the VPN protocols they provided works. I used LetsVPN during my stay in China, but I'm sure their lowest plan goes at 7 days for $2.98. Reach out to NORDVPN support and tell them what city your going to.
2017年5月28日 · YouTube was passable. NordVPN: Also no connection. Tried on two different days, Taiwan and Hong Kong, but still nada. Guangzhou Cyberghost: ….no connection ExpressVPN: Very good, very fast. No issues. Even connected to LA 3 and was able to watch SNL with limited buffering. NordVPN: OK connection to Hong Kong.

2023年1月12日 · Its working fine in china. Neither ExpressVPN nor NordVPN works in china now. Very much all dead, don't fall for the dated reviews. Express vpn still not working at china. Being in Beijing right now, ExpressVPN despite the recommended settings (auto-disconnect if internet connection fails).
