The doctor gave me the Propofol, I felt a pleasant tingling. I counted to 10, told the doctor that I am still awake. The doctor said “Oh”, and that’s the last thing I remember.
2022年7月13日 · As far as dizziness, you're going to be recovering in a bed for a bit after the procedure. Propofol is EXTREMELY fast on/off, so although you'll be a bit lightheaded from not eating, you won't be extremely dizzy. I've actually experienced both multiple times and 100% prefer propofol. I told my GI I will be insisting on it for my next scope (hospital where I am in Canada really pushes twilight sedation - I've tried it 3 times and felt/remembered the entire procedure every time, and believe me, it was not pleasant).

Like, I knew that I had previously known how, and I was certain that I’d know again, but I could not remember that I needed to move my arm down so my finger could push the lever.
2021年12月31日 · gremlinsstore. • 3 yr. ago. I much prefer propofol, no benzo. The last time I had an endoscopy, they didn’t use propofol and instead used conscious sedation (versed + Demerol). Completely average doses, not unusually high or anything. I slept for 19 hours when I came home and then was dopey/sleepy the entire next day.
2022年2月14日 · Precedex is very expensive (at least where I am) and it won’t achieve a RASS less than -1. It’s not a great substitute for even moderate dose propofol and certainly not a Versed gtt. If we are aiming for a RASS less than -1, then we maximize fentanyl and propofol and use PRN Versed pushes (maybe Versed gtt for RASS -5).

2022年4月4日 · Propofol wake ups don't really have any significant disadvantages I can think of, other than trying to work out the dosing/timing. One way you could make yourself more comfortable with a propofol wake up is if you use a BIS or whatever EEG you have available, because the changes in the EEG will happen slightly before the patient starts bucking or whatever, and you'll have time to respond.
