Alan Christopher Walker, CBE, FBA, FRSA, FAcSS (born 20 April 1949) is a British academic, social scientist and public health administrator. Since 1985, he has been Professor of Social Policy and Social Gerontology at the University of Sheffield .
Programme director. Dr Alan Walker is Professor of Social Policy and Social Gerontology at the University of Sheffield, UK. He has been researching and writing on aspects of ageing and social policy for over 30 years. He is currently Director of the European Research Area in Ageing.
