Both are attractive. The guided ground walkway route may also be easier to find information on photo spots for the day.
2024年4月26日 · Apr 26, 2024, 9:54 AM. From Tokyo to Kawaguchiko, there is only the Fuji Excursion train which goes directly. No change of trains en route. This leaves from Shinjuku. We used this train to visit Kawaguchiko. Comfortable journey. Time - 2 hours one way. We bought the tickets in advance through the online website.

However, along the coastline roads are narrow and winding thus steering speed would dial down to 30/40 km/h on average. There are plenty of worthy spots so allow at least 3 days even by car.
