  1. 2024年4月19日 · 1. Re: Gion Matsuri 17th or 24th. Not much difference between the 17th and 24th. The website shows a detailed daily schedule but it's in Japanese. You can switch to English but the details disappear :) I actually like Hanagasa Junko on the 24th a lot. It's only on the 24th.

The final night will be spent back in Tokyo since our flight home is from there. I can’t decide if we should do 2 nights in Kyoto at a ryokan (Nazuna tsubaki st.) and 3 in Osaka (with a day trip to Nara) (Swissotel in Osaka)

There appears to be more amenities at Cerulean but the rooms are more dated and the location isn't as convenient as Hotel Indigo (though still a decent location as far as I can tell). The room at Cerulean is slightly larger than Indigo (38m2 vs 30m2).

I read the autumn illumination runs from end of November until mid December and it’s from sunset until 7pm. Can I confirm that this light-up event doesn’t require a separate entrance fee, unlike all the light-ups in Kyoto?
