2024年4月24日 · 日本に留学していたカク・イフン（グオ・イーフェン／郭挹芬）は、1983年に茨城県の筑波大学修士課程の入学試験を契機に台湾アート界初のビデオ・インスタレーションを制作し、同年末にはガオ・チョンリー（高重黎）が台北での自身の写真展で、監視カメラとモニターを使った作品を発表。 同様の時期にはチェン・ジエレン（陳界仁）が監視社会に言及するビデオ作品を制作したといわれています。 その後、ワン・ジュンジェ（王俊傑）やユェン・グァンミン（袁廣鳴）といった現在の台湾アート・シーンを代表する作家たちが映像作品の制作を始め、20世紀末までにその表現は多様化し、映像を扱う作家の層も厚くなっていきます。 「MAMスクリーン019」では、5作品を年代順に上映します。

1968年にベトナムのカンボジアとの国境近くの街に生まれ、10歳のときにポル・ポト派の侵攻、ベトナム共産党の圧政から逃れるために、難民としてアメリカへと移り住んだディン。 アメリカの大学で写真などを学び、その後ベトナムに戻った彼の作品には、ベトナム戦争に対する複雑な視点がたびたび表れます。 また、ディンはアーティストとしてだけでなく、サン・アートを主催し、若手アーティストの支援や、地域や政府の現代美術への理解を深めることを目的に活動しています。 レポート前編では、林道郎氏のプレゼンテーションをご紹介します。 林道郎氏のプレゼンテーションではまず、ベトナム戦争と日本の関わりについてのお話がありました。
