Options are Nikko or Kaga-Onsen with the hope of catching fall colours, quality onsen/ryokan, culture and food (last is most important!). Nikko getting Kinugawa Koen/Onsen ryokans. Heard Nikko very crowded so thinking of Kaga-Onsen.

Hi, for the dates of this October, it seems like Agoda and Rakuten has lower rates than booking directly with the hotel. I understand that room configurations will be different and booking directly would be better.
