Modular mMIMO의 가장 큰 특징은 앞서 살펴본 바와 같이 AFAM을 Modular Architecture로 구현함으로써 열원을 분리했다는 점입니다. 기존의 mMIMO의 경우 후면 Heat Sink로, 대부분의 열이 후면으로 방출되는 방식이며 Fan이 포함되는 경우도 있습니다. 이에 비해 Modular mMIMO는 주요 열원을 전면과 후면으로 분리 배치함으로써 높은 방열 효과를 기대할 수 있습니다. 또 다른 특징은 제품의 규격입니다. 기존의 경우 640TRx급 RU를 지원하기 위해서는 요구되는 사이즈가 최소 30㎏ 이상의 무게와 60ℓ부피의 수준이었습니다.
