   中文大學蒙民偉數學講座教授辛周平教授. 辛教授專門研究Navier-Stokes方程式，這些複雜的方程式可以模擬氣候、海流及飛機機身周圍的氣流，在現實生活有很多應用的機會如車輛及航機的設計以及公害的分析。 數學可以模擬不同範疇的事物，例如美國航空航天局等航天機構，為了研究超音速飛行，利用風洞進行測試，往往花費百萬美元。 利用數學程式模擬，就能節省高昂的實驗費用。 辛教授習慣為很多事物建立模型，然後透過方程式找出解決方案。 簡單如用飲管來啜飲咖啡，經過一番功夫，也可以歸納為事實和數字，分析過程中的得著能帶來啟發。 他指出：「現實生活中，要取得合情理的數學程式來查明解決方案的變化，實在是很複雜的事情。 」但就是這些努力，讓辛教授得以將數字世界和現實世界連接起來。
