ASIA: The major Asian stock markets had a mixed day today: NIKKEI 225 increased 599.03 points or 1.57% to 38,835.10. Shanghai increased 7.02 points or 0.22% to 3,147.74. Hang Seng decreased 98.93 points or -0.53% to 18,479.37.

The initial announcement did not state who was responsible, but Sky News reported that their sources claim China is to blame. There has been much news of heightened tensions with China around the May 7 target.
