2024年4月1日 · By far the worst car rental experience ever!! As everyone has already mentioned, stay away from this rental company. I made a reservation for Thrifty through DiscoverCars and it indicated it was at the airport location. We ended up having to take a shuttle to offsite location. The staff is rude.

For car hires, the most popular companies to use are Times, Nissan and Toyota. There are others like Orix and Nippon but they usually seem more expensive.

If all you want is a car for travel and sightseeing, just get a car from usual rental companies like Toyota, Time and Budget car rental, and you can get comprehensive insurance cover for a few thousand yen per rental (not per day).

Just saying a couple blocks further south on Olas Altas. Or ask Langostino's to help you after you've had your drinks or meal.
