I was wondering if anyone knew of stores in Japan (specifically Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo) that sell second hand Mikimoto pearls. I am after a princess length strand and would be happy to drop around 150,000Y on it but can't afford the typical RRP that I have seen ($2900AUD starting).
There is quite a lot to see on the Mikimoto Pearl Island if pearl is your cup of tea. The museum is very informative with many exhibits and displays of the cultivation industry. There are also workshop demonstration and staff are extremely patient to explain everything with their limit English.
A visit to Milimoto pearl island costs ¥1500 for and adult and you need to spend about two to three hours to make the most of the visit. There is a demonstration in English at twenty minutes past the hour and to be sure of a front row seat it is necessary to be there at ten past the hour.

Answer 1 of 4: I have no idea how much it costs to buy good quality pearl necklace. I know it depends on the pearls and size of strand, but it would be helpful if I knew the range. I would imagine the price ranges. Any suggestions on where to buy good quality...
