12 years ago. I assumed English would be quite widely spoken in Hong Kong, and was surprised how few people could speak it, to anything more than a few words. I assume that perhaps its not taught so much anymore in the schools since the colony was handed back to China in 1997. Report inappropriate content.

Minuses, if you did not get your waiting ticket via wechat (yes you can and it has 30 km radius!!!!) and you don't speak or understand Chinese, it may be challenging. 1)they shout numbers in Chinese, 2)they dont speak English and sometimes its hard to communicate with staff even if you have translator.
