We arrive on day 1 around 7 pm and depart on day 3 at 8 pm giving us 2.5 days (or 2 full days to get around. Our last trip here was about 9 years ago, so here are my questions:

You could, of course, go to Takayama and Matsumoto. Take a look at Takayama and day trips around there, ie Shirakawa go and Furukawa.
