HKJCDPRI is based at the HKAM, and partners with CCOUC, HKU and Harvard. We focus on the need for competencies on knowledge, skills as well as attitude to reduce disaster loss and suffering. 2019年1月14日 · 香港珍古德協會社區為本極端天氣災害應變先導計劃 粉嶺、上水、沙頭角及打鼓嶺等北區覆蓋範圍，由於地勢平坦並有廣闊的集水區，雨水積聚和退卻都較為緩慢，成為另一「傳統」水浸黑點。 教研中心與「香港珍古德協會」合作推行社區為本極端天氣災害應變先導計劃，邀請區內青少年參加導師培訓計劃，認識北區正面對的災害風險，學習防護及應對方法與技術；並在學有所成後，將知識分享給其他區內人士。 計劃中除了運用虛擬實景遊戲，以加強參加者的體驗；更得到香港天文台的支持，在四套公眾教育影片中粉墨登場，向北區居民傳遞防災知識。
Who we are. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute (HKJCDPRI) was set up in 2014 with the generous donation from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Housed in and led by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, the HKJCDPRI aims to build a prepared community in Hong Kong to respond to disasters.

Ian Norton。 拜訪期間進行了數輪會議，討論了香港醫學專科學院（HKAM）以及香港賽馬會災難防護應變教研中心（HKJCDPRI）的策略規劃和能力建設。 會議的主要目的是分享HKJCDPRI的重要工作，以及我們合作夥伴的緊急應變培訓。 災難及緊急應變範疇的重要參與者均獲邀出席是次會議，他們來自政府單位、非政府機構、學術單位和醫學院校，包括民眾安全服務隊、醫療輔助隊、醫院管理局、香港紅十字會、香港大學的急症醫學部、香港急症科醫學院以及香港社會醫學學院。 與會者在會議中得到不少具有前膽性的啟發。 會議期間，一些關於培訓和認證的潛在合作領域得到確認。 在這些問題上討論更多，有助找出具成效的最佳合作方式。 學院在當晚為世界衛生組織的特邀嘉賓主持晚宴。
