Will be in Tokyo in October then heading down to Kyoto, looking at making a detour to spend a night around Mt Fuji. The fastest between the two cities looks to be the Tokaido Shinkansen line. We have been there before and stayed in Shinjuku due to the accessability to train station, convenience stores, restaurants, etc. I would like to know if there might be another area that’s similar where we can stay.

Never been to Nikko or enoshima island. I just read that there is a cave in enoshima and perhaps you can do it together with kamakura?
