「綠表資格證明書」有效期為一年，於有效期內申請者可使用獲發的「綠表資格證明書」購買由房委會╱房協提供的資助出售單位，當中包括「居者有其屋計劃╱私人機構參建居屋計劃」、「綠表置居計劃」、「居屋第二巿場計劃」以及「住宅發售計劃第二市場」等計劃下出售的單位。 凡持有「綠表資格證明書」的公屋申請者及申請內家庭成員必須仍符合有關資助自置居所計劃申請資格的所有準則。 在證明書有效期內，及行使證明書參加上述資助自置居所計劃直至該計劃屆滿╱完結期間（如適用），公屋編配將被暫緩處理。 符合資格的申請者可向房屋署申請分組提出申請「綠表資格證明書」或致電房委會熱線2712 2712查詢。 香港房屋委員會以一般申請者 (即家庭及長者一人申請)平均約三年獲首次編配單位為目標。
