7 years ago. I just tried to pick our seats for our Air France flight from Boston to Capetown and the return Delta flight from Johannesburg to Boston. Air France will charges you $23 too choose your standard seat or wait until checkin. Delta will not let you choose your seat before checkin,at least for an economy ticket.

Does anyone know where the onscreen entertainment thing is located for seats that are in the first row of Delta 757 Economy Plus. Those seats have a lot of extra legroom as well as being the emergency exit rows. The tray tables are located in the seat dividers.
6 years ago. I recently flew from BOS to SNN with an Aer Lingus economy ticket. I then bid $750US for an upgrade in the Aer Lingus auction. I received an email confirming my bid and price. Three days before the flight a friend got upgraded for the minimum bid of $380 even though he had the same economy fare.
I used SeatGuru to get good seats for the long leg from Chicago to Honolulu, and chose a United flight because the "good seats" were available. All of a sudden yesterday, United made a small change to the departure times (5 minutes) and by doing so, all my seat assignments were changed. I'm still in first-class but not the seats I originally chose.
