2013年7月29日 · The exchange rate adjustment is basically the comparison between the rate they give you and the unadjusted trading rate of the day, so in essence you are being charged a 4.75% fee. My bank (bofa) for example charges about the same adjustment rate, but only a flat $5 atm fee (vs. the 2% fee of your card), which is overall a better deal than what you're getting.
2015年3月23日 · 2015/3/24 13:26. The rates even differ in the airport by several percent. If you can change your funds to yen within about 3% of the mid point (buy/sell) then you're probably doing ok. USD is one of the better currencies, and you will probably get a better rate in Japan because of the availability of yen notes.

The airports tend to have some of the better rates, but you'll also get similar rates by doing cash withdrawals at the postal or 711 atms directly from your US account.
2019年4月10日 · The banks at the airport give you about 2.5-3 yen less than the official rate, but Travelex gouges you about 8-9 yen less than the official rate. One will never get the official rate, but you can use it as an estimate of what you'll get. And if you land on a weekend, Friday's rates will be used throughout the weekend.
