2024年5月7日 · 最新有消息指，政府的初步方案將會改為「紅的」落旗加至29元；香港的士小巴商總會理事長周國強今日在電台節目表示，若果政府最終決定只加2元，業界只能無奈接受。 昨日周國強談及的士加價申請時指出，今次加價申請是的士業10年來的第三次，2022年政府批准加價時，收費亦已滯後。 他直言「如果搭的士畀多兩三蚊都影響生活質素，建議唔好搭」。 近年的士保費大增，維修保養費亦上漲；當巴士司機月薪已有26000元時，的士司機在加價後也只得23000元，他質疑如何吸引新人入行。 然而，有消息指政府將於短期內審議的士加價申請，初步方案為的士落旗加價2元，以市區的士為例，即市區的士落旗價將由27元升至29元，較業界建議加幅少3元。
