    在筹备该专辑之前，Lady Gaga是持反对态度的，因为她觉得发行再版唱片是一种不公正的行为——仅是艺术家为了维持专辑发行热度，偷偷将歌曲塞进已完成的作品而已。最初，新视镜唱片公司计划以这张再版唱片的名义，将三首歌曲加入原版专辑中，其中的一首《Monster》已由Lady Gaga在2009年3月完成作曲 。2008年至2009年期间，Lady Gaga在世界各地巡回演出的过程中创作了《The Fame Monster》 ，她为该专辑写了许多在创作首专《The Fame》时不会写的歌曲 。
