With a Chinese bank card, remember there are transaction limits when it comes to withdrawing money overseas. My understanding is up to RMB 10,000 daily with an additional annual cap of RMB 100,000. This applies even if you withdraw foreign currency (not RMB). The limit is calculated based on conversion in such cases.

Not many reasons to visit the Standard Chartered Bank building in Central if not for banking purposes or perhaps to delight at the delightful restaurant, Mott 32, situated in the basement (old vault) of the building. If you do visit Standard Chartered Bank, of interest are the two stained glass windows located beside the lobby elevators.
