2022年6月23日 · 為鼓勵公眾回收塑膠，提升處理廢塑膠的成本效益，環保署在2020年1月起於本港三個不同地區：東區、觀塘及沙田，推行為期兩年的「塑膠回收先導計劃」。 此計劃以服務合約形式聘請承辦商向區內已登記的公私營住宅、學校、公營機構、社區回收中心和「綠在區區」等提供免費收集非工商業廢塑膠回收服務 [註5]。 計劃內可回收的塑膠物料種類廣泛，例如： 包括膠袋（例如背心袋、米袋、包裝膠袋等）； 膠容器（例如膠樽、膠桶、膠箱、微波爐膠盒、乳酪杯、豆腐盒等）； 發泡膠（例如水果網、發泡膠箱、發泡膠防撞物料等）； 膠餐具、膠飲管、光碟、包裝氣泡膜及其他包裝膠物料等 [註5]。 市民簡單清洗塑膠後，便可將塑膠放置於專門收集家居各類一般可回收廢膠 [註6]的廢膠回收桶。 有關相關承辦商及收集地點，可參閱下表：
