香港中樂團 （英語： Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra ）於1977年由 市政局 發起 [1] ，常受邀於國際音樂廳及藝術節演出 [2] ，有「民樂翹楚」和「香港文化大使」之稱。 該樂團於2001年脫離 康樂及文化事務署 ，成為慈善團體 [3] 。 香港中樂團是世上首屈一指的 中樂團 ，2002年獲 國際現代音樂協會 （英語：International Society for Contemporary Music） 頒發最傑出成就獎表揚中樂方面的貢獻 [3] 。 香港中樂團由90多名專業成員組成，分為拉弦、彈撥、吹管及敲擊四個樂器群組。

The Orchestra was founded in 1977 and is the only professional, full-sized Chinese orchestra in Hong Kong. It came under the management of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra Limited on 1st April, 2001 when the latter took over from the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong.
