2023年5月17日 · Finasteride可抑制5α-還原酶，避免睪固酮還原成二氫睪固酮，減少毛囊受損，對於落髮有治療效果。 根據研究，以1mg的Finasteride治療後，超過8成病患的落髮問題會減緩，75%病患更出現增髮現象，其中又以輕度禿髮的患者減緩落髮的效果較明顯 4 ；中度禿髮患者則以增髮效果較為顯著；表示早期使用Finasteride，能幫助停止掉髮，避免髮線繼續後移，保有原先的髮量；而已經有雄性禿問題者，除了能改善掉髮之外，還有機會讓頭髮長回來。 然而，研究也提到愈早服用Finasteride，治療效果愈好，而且需長期使用，才能達到最佳療效。 若未定期服用、擅自停藥，藥物的療效雖佳，也很難讓髮量恢復原先狀況；因此，早期診斷、早期治療，並且依醫囑按時服藥，就是治療雄性禿的關鍵。
