助聽器是否適合自己，當然要試戴過先知道。試戴服務可分為「短暫外借」和「店內試戴」： 試戴時可留意自己說話的聲音是否自然、與別人談話時是否聽得清楚等來評估助聽器的效能。聽力中心的聽力學家之後會根據客觀的聽力測試結果、弱聽人士的助聽器使用經驗和生活聆聽的需要，調校助聽器至最適合的狀態。 試戴者同時要注意可供試戴的助聽器數量，某些聽力中心會限制免費試戴3個或以下的型號，否則會收取額外的費用。
所有出售助聽器的聽力中心皆有提供助聽器保用，保用範圍包括助聽器調校、助聽器零件檢查及維修、檢查及維修時衍生的人工費及零件費等。 但需留意保用條款，如一般不包括人為損壞、意外損壞、機殼／耳模等，以及保用年期（短至1年，長至4年）。如需延長保用期，一般需於保用期內提出，續保費用會因應延長年數及助聽器型號而釐定。
